Fortnite Cash Cup Explained | Chapter 5 Season 3

You can earn money simply by playing the game you love. The best part? You don’t even have to be a pro gamer to make some cold hard cash. Because Epic Games have created ways for normal players like you and me to make money in Fortnite. 

One of the ways to make money is by participating in events like the Fortnite Cash Cup with your mates. Pretty great, eh? So, what do you need to do to participate? That’s what I’m here to tell you.

Fortnite Cash Cups give players of all skill level a chance to compete for cash prizes. This means that you don’t have to be a pro player to try your luck at the cash prize. 

Each tournament consists of two rounds. The top 50 teams from the initial round move on to Round 2, where they compete to win the prize money. And one important thing to note is that in Chapter 5 Season 3 the Cash Cups are all duo tournaments.

In the Duo Cash Cup, Round 1 features a three-hour competition stage where teams can play up to ten matches. For Round 2, teams compete in just one segment during their region’s designated time slot, limited to six matches within three hours. After Round 2 concludes, teams at the top of the leaderboard in each region earn cash prizes based on their performance.

The Fortnite Cash Cup will take place in June, July and August for this season. You can either play with build or without. Where do you think you’ll be able to earn more cash?

Fortnite Cash Cups: How to Participate

To enter the Cash Cups, both you and your duo partner need to achieve at least Gold Rank in Ranked Battle Royale. Once you've met this requirement, simply join together in a lobby at the start of the tournament, select the Cash Cup game mode, and enter the queue to participate. Yes, it’s that simple. 

You also have to enable your two-factor authentication, so make sure you’ve got that taken care of. But once you followed these steps, you’ll be good to start playing with your duo partner.

Now of course, you want to know how much money you can make, right? The prize pool differs from region to region, so I’ve listed all the different cash prizes per region so you know how much you can make, no matter where you live. 

Europe & North America Build

Europe and North America have the same prize pool distribution, which is why I’ve put them together into one table so you can see. 

Europe & North America Zero Build

Brazil, Asia, Middle East & Oceania Build

These four regions also have the same prize pool distribution for both Build and Zero Build tournaments.

How are Points Distributed in the Fortnite Cash Cup? 

You can rake in the points by getting kills. Each elimination in Round 1 will earn you 2 points. In the Round 2, that increases to 4 points per kill. Finishing in a high spot will also earn you and your duo additional points.

So, once you’ve got all the points possible, you could be earning quite a bit of money. Of course, you have to be able to beat out hundreds of other players to make it into the top of a Cash Cup.
